Transfer Students

1. Application to K-State
If you are a transfer student (with previous college credits), you should apply for admission to K-State approximately two months prior to the term you wish to enter.

As a transfer student, you are expected to have at least a 2.0 (C) average in previous academic work to be considered for admission to the university. This applies to Kansas and out-of-state transfer students. Application forms are available at the Office of Admissions (119 Anderson Hall, 532-6250) or at consider.k-state.edu/admissions/.

2. Application to Teacher Education
If you have satisfied all of the admission requirements, you should apply at the time of initial enrollment. Course work completed at other colleges and universities will be evaluated prior to enrollment at K-State. You should ask during initial advising if you meet admission requirements for the professional program. If so, you should submit the application for teacher education at that time. Applications will be evaluated as soon as possible after registration. Forms are available in the Center for Student and Professional Services (13 Bluemont Hall, 532-5524).

3. Application for Student Teaching
If you are a junior or senior transfer student from other educational institutions who misses the December 20 deadline because of late transfer, you should submit the application for student teaching immediately upon initial enrollment. The application is available online on the Forms page. Computer access is available in the Catalyst in Bluemont Hall.

4. Advising
You will have an advisor in the Center for Student and Professional Services (13 Bluemont Hall, 532-5524). If you are attending a community college, you are encouraged to plan your degree programs in a four-year sequence. The College of Education invites you to seek advice from the Center for Student and Professional Services concerning course selections.
